Adult Summer Reading
June 1-August 7
Our adult summer reading program is open to adults and high school aged teens. All you have to do is read books or listen to unabridged audio books (including Playaways!). The more books you read, the more you get!
For reading 4 books, get a photo holder. For reading 8 books, you get a tote along book mat.
For every book you read, you will get an entry into our monthly and grand prize drawings!

Monster Movie Series
Everyone is invited to join us at the Minooka Branch for our Monster Movies Series. Note these movies are monster movies and may not be suitable for all audiences. 

Showing on Sat June 19 at 12:30pm is a Disney/Pixar film for the whole family. The big blue and fuzzy James P Sullivan and his one eyed roommate Mike Wzowski are professional "scare specialists" collecting the energy of children's screams to power their society. Their life gets turned upside down when they accidentally let a little girl named Boo into their world. Rated G, 89 minutes.

Showing on Sat July 3 at 12:30pm, a group of treasure seeking explorers in the Sahara in the 1920s stumble upon an ancient tomb. They unwittingly set loose a 3,000 year old legacy of terror, which is embodied in the vengeful reincarnation of an Egyptian priest who had been sentenced to an eternity as one of the living dead. Rated PG-13, 124 minutes. Note: There is violence, partial nudity and some intense scenes in this movie.

Showing on Sat. July 17 at 12:30pm, an unusual Christmas present called a mogwai is given to Billy Peltzer with 3 simple rules: never get him wet, keep him out of bright light and never feed him after midnight. When the rules are broken, the consequences multiply at an alarming rate. PG, 111 minutes. Note: This movie contains violence, language and scary scenes that would probably be a PG-13 today.

Showing on Sat July 31, the Grave family moves into the secluded house of their great great uncle Arthur Spiderwick. Once there they begin to notice strange events and begin to uncover the fantastic truth about the creatures that inhabit the Spiderwick estate. PG, 97 minutes. Note: Some scary scenes may not be suitable for children under 7.
