A person wishing to get a Three Rivers Public Library District library card must live within the district [please consult your tax bill, voter's registration card or contact either branch] and provide acceptable proof of the current address. This must contain both the name of the person applying for the library card and their current street address. PO Boxes are not acceptable proof of residency. The following items are acceptable proof of current address:

Anyone who cannot provide acceptable proof of current address (such as a minor) must have a parent or legal guardian present who will co-sign for the library card and provide acceptable proof of current address. Anyone under 18 must have a parent or guardian co-sign for their card.
A person owning property within this district may be issued a card with system privileges upon showing proof of property ownership. This card is to be issued in the person's name. If property owned is a business within the district, a business card will be issued.
The patron's library card is to be presented when materials are borrowed or other services are requested. Any patron not having their card in their possession when they wish to check out materials must complete a temporary library card registration form and also provide the appropriate required ID. Staff may refuse service during busy periods if no library card is presented.
Persons applying for a library card who are in the database but whose card has expired or is lost will be issued a new library card upon payment of the $3 card replacement fee.
Replacement library cards will be issued with ID and a payment of the $3 card replacement fee.
Non-Resident: Persons living in areas unserved by any library district (please consult your tax bill) and reside within the Minooka Community High School District may apply for a non-resident library card. Non-resident fees are equal to resident fees and are computed based on the resident tax bill: 1 % of the net equalized value of home times our current tax multiplier. Renters pay 10% of one month's rent based on lease or current rent receipt. Non-resident cards are good for one year at any participating Prairie Area Library System library. Non-resident cards are issued to immediate family members.
Corporate Cards: A corporate library card is issued to companies based within the boundaries of the Three Rivers Public Library District. Application must be made on the company letterhead and must contain the name of the person responsible for the account. One card will be issued per company and valid for Local Use Only. Cards will be issued for one year in the company's name. The responsible person's name is to be on the back of the registration card. The card must be presented each time loans are made. There is a replacement charge for a lost or damaged card. Normal library circulation rules apply.
Teacher or Student Cards: Teachers employed by the Channahon and Minooka school districts are entitled to use their school's account to check out library materials. School accounts allow for six week checkouts with no renewal. To use a school account, you must present a current school issued id. Only the employee of the school can use the account not spouses or other relatives. Please call the library if you have any questions. We do not issue individual student or teacher cards.
Reciprocal Borrowers: Patrons from other libraries that either belong to or have a reciprocal borrowing agreement with Prairie Area Library System may check out items from our library using their home library card. Inquire at the desk when you first use our library.
